Ballistics, a rifle is just as useful as a shotgun, and more so for some purposes. You have to consider the same types of stuff that you would with a handgun. You got to consider muzzle velocity, muzzle energy, but with a rifle you’re also considering something called ballistic coefficient. Ballistic coefficient is basically how much resistance the bullet fines in the air when it’s traveling down range. The ballistic coefficient or the drag on the bullet can change depending on the shape of the bullet the type of bullet the velocity the bullet is traveling at and the material that the bullet is made of.
