Robert Adams
Having been brought up in a housing estate in Glasgow expectations were fairly limited. I had a rather erratic upbringing (what we would now call dysfunctional). As a child I was always drawing or writing and had no interest in the ‘normal’ things boys did; like football and fighting, so I never really fitted in. It was this that led to my search for me (who am I?) and how I could find a culture where I belonged.
My passion is helping people get to know themselves better by initially raising their self-awareness. This improves motivation and strengthens communication. When people are motivated and communicating effectively they produce greater results and cultivate more positive and productive cultures. I spent years searching, studying and travelling various roads. I have a Master in Fine Art, a Master in Education specialising in Leadership and Management, a Master in Diversity, Culture and Identity, and am a Licensed DISC Trainer, licensed through The Coaching Academy.
I use DISC, personality profiling, as my starting point because it’s the simplest yet most robust model offering specific solutions at all levels. We are all different. But we are all predictably different. DISC makes it possible to understand people in minutes rather than months, years, a life time! But through years of experience I now go far beyond just self-awareness. Knowledge without action is pointless. I now use all my years of experience to support others to enact positive and sustainable change.
