A BEAT BOOMER: Leslie was lead singer of The Stained Glass Window, folk singer vocalist and songwriter, part of experimental college* at San Francisco State, lived 6 blocks from Janis Joplin, saw all the bands (Quicksilver, Dead, Airplane, Ian and Sylvia, Dan Hicks) before they earned a dime. She was a poet, mistaken for Joan Baez at a Bob Dylan concert, spent time at the Blue Unicorn Cafe two blocks from the beach, walked the streets of Columbus and Broadway, studied drama and humanities at San Francisco State, flew troops into Viet Name in mid 60's (stewardess), read Herb Caen every day, ordained as minister of Universal Life Church, first registration to vote in Peace and Freedom Party. If you want the inside scoop on the Bay Area Beat Scene stop by and listen! (Theme music from Kevin MacLeod of Incompetech.com)
