International best-selling author Lorna Byrne has been seeing and talking to angels since she was a baby. Very unusually she sees angels physically – just as you see someone sitting across from you. Dyslexic and diagnosed as “retarded” as a child, she has never read a book. She says that the angels are her teachers, and she shares their wisdom in an authentic and charming way. The story of her life sharing the wisdom God and the angels have taught her Angels in My Hair is a blockbuster in her native Ireland – 20 weeks at number one and the bestselling nonfiction book in Ireland in 2009 after Barack Obama’s Dreams Of My Father. A Sunday Times bestseller in the UK, it is now translated into 20 languages including Japanese, Korean and Russian. In the USA it is published by Doubleday. Lorna has attracted a lot of attention in European theological circles. She has been interviewed by all the key religious press, including repeatedly by the BBC. The Economist magazine quoted Lorna extensively in a major cover feature on angels at Christmas. Theologians of different faiths and the head of a religious order in Rome travel to see her for guidance and spiritual insight too. One aspect of Lorna’s message is that angels are multi denominational, and everyone regardless of religion or belief has a Guardian angel. This is one of the reasons that Muslim intellectual Tariq Ramadan named Angels in my hair as his recommended read of year in the prestigious Foreign policy Magazine. The overwhelming reaction of the million readers internationally to Angels in my hair is that it has given them hope, helped them to realize that no matter how alone they might feel they had a Guardian Angel there by their side, that it has helped them to reconnect with God.
