Monica Lewis Patrick is a mother, organizer, educator, entrepreneur, activist, mentor and motivational speaker. She is the founder of We the People of Detroit and is actively engaged in almost every struggle on behalf of Detroit’s residents. As a former Legislative Policy Analyst for Detroit City Council, under the mentorship of former City Councilwoman Honorable Joann Watson, Monica has authored legislation, conducted research and delivered consulting services to hundreds of city residents. She has organized numerous rallies, hosting notables such as Dr. Angela Davis, Dr. Maulana Karenga, and Dr. Claude Anderson and was the lead organizer of the largest rally in Detroit against the Emergency Manager Law, chaired by the Honorable John Conyers and the Honorable Joann Watson. Monica is a grassroots leader who stands firm in voice and deed when it comes to maintaining and protecting the quality of life and integrity for all Detroiters and is currently one of the leaders at the forefront of the water struggles in Detroit.

Ben Ptashnik is a lifelong activist, former state senator and chief sponsor of Vermont's groundbreaking campaign finance reform: The VT Clean Elections Act. He is the National Elections Integrity Coaition National Coordinator.
