Students in Texas and other parts of the US are beaten on their buttocks with wooden boards by their educators as a form of punishment. 85% of these students are poor and have special needs. A bill was introduced this June in Congress to ban all US school beatings entitled, "Ending Corporal Punishment in Schools Act," HR 5628. Your peers need your support in having this bill passed. A rally is being planned for Friday, Nov. 12 in front of the Texas State Capitol on Congress and 11th Street, 4:30-6:00pm. Your peers need your support. Beating children is an "old-school model" of "discipline" and is still legal in 20 US states and our territories. I am a school teacher. I have never have hit a student! Please support your peers who are unable to articulate for their right to be disciplined with dignity and respect in all USA schools. Contact me if you need a sign! Thank you, Paula Flowe, Exec.
