She earned her Master of Arts degree in Gerontology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has worked in the aging industry in the Charlotte area since 2000. She is a columnist for The Charlotte Observer and frequently teaches classes on aging and caregiving to boomers, college students, church groups, and civic organizations.
