From real time with the elder population, I must say many have had good care. Starting from my first experience watching a relative with natural skills which developed over time care for a family member. Later taking a course in Health Sciences and learning massive information, writing papers, doing presentations all helped me to understand.

I am sure most of the senior adults I came to know had someone intercede for them so they could continue living.

Every year a family member calls to a specialized individual for assistance to help with their loved one or other senior. In today’s program, we will discuss real experience and solutions for your loved one.

  • Is forgetting things. Is he or she missing appointment or forgetting where the car is parked? This happens to everyone once in a while. If it’s chronic, it could signal cognitive change.
  • Has a car that’s dented, dinged or missing side mirrors. These can all indicate trouble driving. “Sometimes it’s due to cognition, but sometimes it’s due to neck arthritis. They can’t turn around,” Perskin explains.
  • Isn’t traveling anymore. “Mom might not tell you if she dings the car, but she’ll tell you she doesn’t drive at night or doesn’t go to church anymore. Or if she always comes for your birthday and now she can’t, maybe it’s because traveling alone is too hard,” Perskin says
