Dr. Mike Robinson, host of Parent Talk Live will explore the effectiveness and justification of local or state governments taking over public schools. In recent years, there have been increase discussions regarding the effectiveness of government takeovers of K-12 public education. Now this discussion has reached the door steps of Prince George’s County residents. 

Joining Dr. Robinson will be Dr. Brian Perkins is the Director of the Urban Education Leadership Program at Columbia University Teachers College Department of Organization and Leadership. Dr. Perkins will discuss the rationale behind school takeovers and how school takeovers impact a district’s current Board of Education.

Dr. Robinson will also be joined by BOE Mrs. Zabrina Epps, District 1 representative will outline her reasons for not supporting the County Executive’s proposal for school takeover and how the school system is making steady progress on many of the issues that are part of the kitchen table conversation of families throughout Prince George’s County. 

In the final hour, Dr. Robinson will expand the discussion with a panel of local Prince George's County educational activist who will share their views on the plans of the County Executive Allison Brown, Esq. CEO, Allison Brown , Curtis Valentine, former executive Director of MarylandCan, Jennifer Harris, founder and editor Prince George's County D9 Politico Blog.
