Dr. Zerenay Alemseged is a paleoanthropologist and chair of the Anthropology Department at the California Academy of Sciences in San Franciso. He is best known for his discovery of the world's oldest child, Selam (also referred to as Lucy's child), in 2000. He will be discussing not only his work but also science in general, and his public outreach and education efforts in the U.S. and internationally including Ethiopia.
