Join Rafael F J Alvarado as he talks to Danny Baker

Danny Baker is a fresh face on the writing scene, coming on strongly of late.  He has walked the darkest of streets and brightest of hills.  Born in Los Angeles into a well disguised home of entropic, angst ridden existence, he ran from the gilded mount and insecurity of what should have been the American Dream; finding himself on and off the streets throughout his early teens.  A high-school drop-out, he somehow landed on Wall Street at 20.

Danny bleeds his truth, serving up his dissonance, conflict and the voice of a survivor whose right brain had been silent far too long with a forked tongue of a man searching for childhood lost and reason to exist in a world often so unreasonable.

Paternally bullied from his punk rock rebellion decades ago and into a suit, a move he rues to this day, his work reflects the pain of acute self awareness of one who sees and has seen more than he wishes, and the scars incurred while battling life and self for ostensible ‘success.’  His word also reflects a strong sense of larger principle.  Seeking innocence lost through a kaleidoscopic eye and left brain gone haywire, Danny spills his ink with integrity, never pulling punches for the sake of monotheistic correctness or social norm as he despises both.

Currently residing on Maui, Danny’s prose and poetry have been gaining an increasing following and despite being self-described as lackadaisical with regards to publishing, his work has been featured in Paraphilia, Volume 11, The Examiner and the Edgar Allan Poet library.  Additional requests for his work are flowing and more poetry should see the light of publication in the near future.  He is also actively penning a memoir, novel and children’s book.
