Author and public speaker Sierra Kay's love of the written word was predestined.  Her mother concerned with the state of the public education system in Chicago encouraged her to read anything that she could get her hands on, including the spelling bee word list that appeared in the Chicago Tribune each year.

She was weaned on books like Anne of the Green Gables and Tale of Two Cities.  She snuck in romance novels that she hid between her mattresses.  However, her favorite book growing up was Aesop's Fables, which she feels puts her in an excellent position to share the moral's of her personal stories, whether people are interested or not.

Kay has an M.A. in Writing from DePaul University, won a Nuyorican Poets Cafe Short Story Slam and participated in Women’s Funny Fest as a member of the comedy troupe Spankx.  In addition to writing novels, she is a member of N2O Comedy in Chicago.
