On the Air With Janice Pernell

Janice Pernell is a sought-after developmental, content, and line editor whose skills were discovered by two phenomenal people.  Dr. Dennis Woods (President and CEO of publishing company Life to Legacy, LLC) noticed that as she turned his clients’ audio recordings into typed manuscripts, she edited the material in the process.  He wasted no time opening the door for her to do content edits on the many books he publishes.  A short while later, Janice crossed paths with National Bestselling Author Naleighna Kai, who immediately recognized Janice’s eye for editing.  Through Naleighna Kai’s mentoring, Janice’s editing skills shined even brighter.  Janice edited Naleighna Kai’s novel, Open Door Marriage, which hit national bestselling lists as soon as it was released in 2014.  Naleighna Kai continues to entrust Janice with the task of editing her books and those written by her publishing consulting clients. 

Janice now edits for several National Bestselling Authors and Independently-published authors.  Some of her editing projects have sold to traditional publishers such as Brown Girls Publishing and Harlequin/Kimani Press.  One editing project became a finalist for the Indie Excellence Award, while others have been picked up by literary agents.  Five of her edited works hit the Top 10 in AALBC's 2014 National Bestseller List.
