With the 2010 elections approaching, it appears that in order to drum up support for the Republican party among Black voters, the conservative strategy is to talk up a party that no longer resembles the one that made “the total elimination of slavery part of its official platform during the first Republican National Convention in 1856” as Williams writes about in his article titled “Republican Party and black advancement”.
