Anika Watkins is a science teacher within the New York City public school system. Since 2000, she has worked in some of the poorest districts across the Bronx. She has taught various sciences including regents Biology, Honors Biology, Chemistry, Environmental studies, and health.
Currently, she teaches S.T.E.M. to special education students. Anika Watkins earned a B.S. in Biology and African American studies from the University at Stony Brook. She earned an M.S. in General/Special Education as well as an MS in Public Health and Health Administration from Touro College. She is a member of the People to People Student Ambassadors program which provides opportunities for students to travel abroad. Watkins is also exploring entrepreneurial opportunities or a possible career as a health promoter/counselor. She resides in Poughkeepsie, NY with her daughter.
