Dr. Akili Graham-Muhammad, affectionately known as Dr. Akili, attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed residency at the University of Texas at Houston. Dr. Akili practiced in a federally funded health facility in Houston prior to opening his own private practice in 2003.

Being traditionally trained in allopathic, western medicine, he has concluded that a medical society with the best technologies, the most doctors, medications, and medical facilities is not producing adequate solutions to restore and heal the body. As such, Dr. Akili now studies alternative therapies designed to provide a holistic approach to restoring the body through nutrition and alternative therapies.

Recognizing this need and the lack of information available to the society, Dr. Akili began offering a series of “How To” seminars designed to educate and improve mental, emotional and physical health. Dr. Akili has lectured at various events including community health fairs, schools and religious institutions. He participated on a panel discussions during Saviours’ Day from 2009 – 2014 and was a guest panelist during Saviours’ Day 2015 wherein the Nation addressed Viruses: Weapons of Mass Destruction.

He is a staunch supporter of his community and has volunteered his time, talent and finances to improve the community. Dr. Akili Co Founded Thy Kingdom Come (TKC) – a coalition of Black spiritual men who began a soap business, weekend tutor program, mentorship program and the Resurrection Zone – which provided housing for recently released incarcerated brothers which resulted in Brothers joining the Nation of Islam. Dr. Akili has participated in “Self-Improvement” presentation which allowed him to interact with 4000 first timers in jail. Finally, Dr. Akili serves as a Dianetics Auditor and a member of the Mosque Health and Human Services Ministry.
