The most recent renovation to the lower-level of Jackson Library was the result of an on-going collaboration between the University Libraries and Undergraduate Studies at UNCG. The two units raised funds to expand the university’s multimedia literacy services, the Digital Media Commons and the Digital ACT Studio. The renovations created free-standing consultation space for the Digital ACT Studio, and added three enhanced maker spaces in the Digital Media Commons; one for 3D and electronics making, one for video making, and another for gaming. The project took a year to complete, from planning to finish. The Department Heads of both the DMC and DACTS worked closely with university administrators, designers, contractors, and our facilities department to bring the project to a successful end by fall 2015.
