As always, big news in hip hop happens in NY, and can have effects on the industry overall. The big story this week is that Hot 97 Program Director and morning show co-host Ebro Darden will no longer hold the PD spot. We'll discuss how this will affect the New York hip hop radio landscape, if at all.

We'll also be talking about the momentous #RiseTogether concert event coming up on March 22, as several different factions of independent New York hip hop, with decades of experience between them, will all come together for one concert event at Littlefield in Brooklyn. We'll hear from Silent Knight, who, along with The Band Called FUSE helped to orchestrate this fine example of the diversity and willingness to rise together of the NY hip hop scene.

We'll also recap a couple of great events we attended this week, including the BK Nation show and the Legends of Hip Hop show at Resorts World Casino!

As always, we'll report and discuss some new releases, and take YOUR CALLS LIVE!

The NY Hip Hop Report is a weekly talk show, featuring discussion regarding relevant New York hip hop topics, interviews with artists and other industry professionals and invites live caller participation. The program, started in 2012 by Birthplace Magazine founder Manny Faces, has included interviews with iconic figures such as Big Daddy Kane and Video Music Box’s Ralph McDaniels, as well as special shows, including an April, 2013 broadcast live from the 10th annual L’Original Festival, a yearly international hip hop festival in Lyon, France.
