MaryLovesJustice Prayer Meeting invites questons and comments at (818)572.2947, at 9pmPacific. We pray for justice in the legal system, but not justice only. We pray for compassion and mercy. The Holy Bible (KJV) mentions "justice" 28 times, but there are 262 references to the word "mercy," and the word "forgive" appears 95 times in the bible. God loves justice, and He will see that justice is served, but He commands us to be merciful and forgiving.

A judge ordered the final Angola3 inmate released after spending 43 years in solitary confinement. Instead, Albert Woodfox, 68, who was convicted for the 1972 killing of Brent Miller, a guard at Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, will remain in the jail while his appeals process continues moving through the courts. The office of Louisiana Attorney General James D. “Buddy” Caldwell filed an emergency stay motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit to prevent Woodfox’s release.

In December 2013, District Attorney Sam D’Aquilla had Herman Wallace re-indicted for murder a few days after he was released from 41 years of solitary confinement in Angola Prison. Wallace, one of the Angola 3, probably died immediately upon hearing the news in hospice care that he was due back in court.
