Mark Vanderboom lived in Indiana for most of his life. Had a great job, two kids and a wife.

In 2014 he had an ERCP done at a major hospital in Indianapolis, where a doctor puts a small camera down his throat into your stomach area.  From the point he woke up it was clear something was wrong and help would not be found.  He was drugged up and sent home with no further investigation by his doctor, medical staff fully deviated from the standard procedures they described prior.  A week later he was in the emergency room with the same group, tests were done and he was referred to a surgeon.  That surgeon refused to help without the initial doctors direct request.    For the next year and a half I was in an emergency room almost every other month.  He saw many doctors and even tried to see a doctor out of state.  One doctor made a half hearted attempt to help but all were quick to pass him on and most did no tests at all.  After almost a year and a half, he was reduced to being treated like a pain med seeking addict by emergency room staff and med check facilities.  I was virtually unable to function and had lost my job, interviewing was impossible as I was in constant pain and I was about to give up.

Even with the pictures of my insides, I could not get any attorney to help.  They said the laws were against me and even if I won, I would not get enough for it to be worth it to them.  Most explained that unless someone died, they simply would not get enough to make the case worth trying.  Although I was not ready and it was advised I do not take it on, I pursed the matter on my own.  Reliving the memories of being degraded from an fully capable person to someone with no credibility and not even treated as  a human was painful.  It was worse than the pain I went through.
