Tonight's special topic will be 'Self Care'. The open mike discussion will be led by AmyAnna Soto from Modesto, California, a survivor of severe child abuse, rape and stalking. AmyAnna is a Certified Somatic Mindful Guided Imagery® Practitioner, with an office in Modesto, California. Her own healing journey gives her unique insight into helping others through the process of SMGI®. She loves being able to bring relief to her clients whether it be from stress, physical pain, emotional pain or repressed traumas. She is delighted when clients realize they have the power and ability to connect with their inner wisdom in order heal themselves. AmyAnna has 10 years experience working for organizations advocating for mental health and trauma healing. In 2014, she became a community voice through public speaking on these matters. AmyAnna learned through organizing writing and arts and crafts groups, trauma survivors can receive a type of healing not available through talk therapy or words alone. As a former Certified Nursing Assistant, AmyAnna learned how strong the human spirit can be and the importance of kindness and compassion in one’s most dire moments. AmyAnna is an artist and poet who has shown her work in Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco and Modesto. She is currently working on a memoir. ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage on tonight's show.
