Tonight's special guest is Bettina Hauser from Miami, Florida, a survivor of sex trafficking. She came to the United States from Hungary at the age of 21 as a result of a human trafficking ring based in Florida. She was a part of the organization for a little over three years, but what’s impressive is how she grew through the pain. Bettina shares, “Shortly after I ran away, I met a man who became my first serious relationship, and he gave me the possibility to start chasing money and start repairing things around me. He helped me get an immigration attorney as well as supporting me financially, saving me from running back. United States Immigration also required me to go therapy, and it was much needed, in order to receive residency.” Bettina’s first goal was to go back to college and finish her degree. Bettina not only found a way to fully finance her education, but she also maintained a 4.0 GPA in almost all semesters. She continues, “The chain of these events made me realize that I am worth a lot more than physically being used by other man. I also realized that I have goals, power, and a very strong motive to succeed. I know where I came from and I’m thankful for God every day of my life that he saved me. I know for a fact, that the life is incredible ahead of me and I wish the other girls surviving sex trafficking would see it in the same way.” Now Bettina is dedicated to helping other female survivors to overcome the consequences of human trafficking and, through her educational program, help them build a successful future while they become a healthy part of the society again.
