Autum Ashanté is a 13 year old poetic prodigy and high school graduate.  She has been writing and performing poetry since she was 3 years old.  She as become a force on the spoken word scene, known for her truthful, thought- provoking verses.  Her passion for spoken word has driven her to amazing heights. Since her first performance at Hottest Poets Slam, she has been causing quite a stir.  Her poetic gift has definitely made room for her

She has performed at venues across the country.  She has graced the stage at  The Apollo Theater, Russell Simmons Phat Farm Fashion Show, The Soul Cafe, Caroline’s, The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Rush Art Gallery, and Da Poetry Lounge, just to name a few.  She has also been soon on BET’s “RAP IT UP”, Steve Harvey’s “Big Time”, MTV/Total Request Live, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, The Heights, Confessions of an Ex-Doofus, String Bean & Marcus, The Prophet, peeps, Hot Cop, Missing in Action and Sesame Street A to Z.

Autum is not only a poetic prodigy.  At the age of 13, she’s also a high school graduate.  She has been an honor roll student since starting school  She speaks fluent Arabic. Swahili and Spanish.  She was homeschooled and has graduated from Westhill High School.  She has also studied classical theatre at the Harlem School of the Arts and City College of New York.  She’s studied chorus and dance at Manna House.

Autum is in many ways a typical 13 year old.  When she isn’t performing, she enjoys bike riding, soccer, dance, poetry, art, writing, theatre, sitting on the beach, swimming, traveling, and going to the movies.
