Grand Obsession Author Perri Knize: The Soul of a Piano

Journalist and author Perri Knize set out on a journey to find a piano, but after finding the one she loved and buying it, a grand piano she came to know as Marlene, something went wrong from the time she first played it to the time it was delivered to her home.  Not willing to give up on Marlene, she scoured the world for the answer to restoring her. 

This GRAND journey opened up larger questions about the nature of our existence and the metaphysical properties of musical instruments.  Why do some instruments speak to some people? Can music change us physically and even reset and properly align our internal rhythms?  What gives a piano, or any instrument, its soul?
