What is a transit of Venus? A very rare occurrence--only seven have been recorded since the invention of the telescope! A transit occurs when Venus passes in front of the Sun, creating a "dark spot" appearing on the Sun's face. This is similar to the effect created by a solar eclipse, except Venus appears much smaller than the Moon.
The Sun, in mundane astrology, represents creativity and the life force. It is the great giver of life, and shines generously upon us all--asking nothing in return. Venus represents earthly experiences such as material security, money, organic growth and building. In its active aspect, Venus represents ideals of balance, social intelligence, novel trends, and love
Transits only occur in the opposing signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, the zodiacal axis of intelligence and wisdom.
What then, lies in store?
What will be revealed during this time, is a new technology--a technology not of mind, but of Being. A grand quantum awakening is upon us--and new forms of understanding will yield new avenues of hope and healing for the planet.
The technology we know now will no longer be developed at the expense of nature, but to her benefit. Green energy will flourish at last, creating a squanderable abundance of clean, renewable resources. Just as the Internet broke the communication monopolies and offered us unlimited bandwidth for communication, green energy will break the energy monopolies and create affordable, usable, clean energy for all.
