Cat Wagman is the President of Working Words, Inc., a Florida-based freelance writing business. She traces her passion for writing back to the pivotal moment in her childhood when she won the Girl Scout Cookie Jingle Contest in 6th grade in Morristown, NJ. It was the first time someone, who didn’t know her, recognized her writing talents. It was also at that point she began to truly understand the power of words.

As a Mom, each year while her sons, Devin and Bernie, attended Pembroke Pines Elementary School, Cat always volunteered to share her joy of writing with their classes. Whatever she was working on became the topic of her presentations, including, “Time and Project Management,” and “The Camera’s Point of View to Scriptwriting.”

In 1990, Cat had a Mom ‘A-HA’ with Devin and Bernie, prompting her to create her first Why … THANK YOU! FUNShop™ for Devin’s 3rd grade class. It quickly became one of Cat’s most popular programs. Many teachers asked her, “When you write your book, please write it for the grown-ups, too, because we need just as much help as the kids!” So in 1997 she published, Why … THANK YOU! — How to Have FUN Writing Fantastic Notes and More,” the only creative writing guide for kids and grown-ups that uses thank you notes at the teaching vehicle.

Now, as an appreciation and communications expert, Cat takes particular joy in helping her clients express themselves in ways they never thought possible. Cat’s eclectic portfolio is a reflection of her diverse experiences — be it the poetic eloquence of emotions, the telling of stories flowing from fantasy to real life, the subtle whispers of seductive temptations that influence purchasing decisions, the heralding calls to action, or the preciseness of straightforward instruction.
