We've all heard of owners' representatives in the superyacht sector... but what exactly does this person do? And, do you need one? Diane M. Byrne discusses the details with Peter Wilson, co-founder of MCM, who has taken on the task with a variety of owners over the years, most recently the owner of the Feadship Najiba.

Among the things Wilson discusses:

1. Does an owner need a formal owner's representative? Is the role the same as that of a project manager?

2. What criteria should an owner use to select a project manager?

3. When should an owner bring in this specialist?

4. Is it easier to work with experienced clients like the owner of Najiba compared to relative newcomers, or does experience present its own set of challenges?
