My recent interview with Gordy Quist, who plays Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals for The Band of Heathens really got me thinking about some of my colorful, yet entertaining backpacking experiences in Scotland, particularly several backpackers I came across who spent the summer bouncing from one music festival to the next from places such as Marseille in southern France all the way through to the Edinburgh for the Edinburgh International Festival.   The idea of country hopping every few days to see music was really the norm and I was absolutely captivated when Gordy mentioned how The Band of Heathens had just come back from a major European tour performing in countries such as Sweden, the Netherlands, Scotland, England and Germany.   Not long after performing abroad, they are back on tour and as I am writing this entry, they will be performing throughout Colorado next week, throughout Texas the following week and then off to Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, New York, the list goes on.  What I really like about this interview is how Gordy talks about appreciating different cultures in each country they performed and how different audiences around the world respond to their music.  This was such a fun interview and Gordy really got me thinking about all the diligence and perseverance involved when touring cross country and abroad.  Take a look at our interview.
