For those of you who haven’t heard of Eric Byington, look him up on Twitter - he’s really interesting.  Eric Byington not only gets to jet set with bands touring the US, he also works closely with an organization called Calling All Crows, which raises funds in empowering women around the world.   Yes, several organizations do this, but what I like about this organization is their strategy in bringing focus to these worldwide issues.  Founded in 2008 by musician Chad Stokes and tour manager Sybil Gallagher, Calling All Crows has raised more than $200, 000 to empower women in Sudan and Afghanistan through volunteerism, advocacy and humanitarian aid.  The really awesome aspect of their campaign is they get to work with so many bands and musicians around the country, fans eagerly waiting to hear about their upcoming gigs and of course, they have tremendous opportunities for volunteers around the country to get involved by talking about these issues at live music gigs.  I know you are reading this thinking, wow, this sounds really fascinating…it is!  Take a look and see how you can become involved.
