Growing Pains - From and Athlete's Perspective

A majority of the population have the luxury of growing up in relative anonymity; less the numerous Youtube videos of college students doing stupid things during spring break. Athletes, on the other hand, are on display for the world to see. Every youthful indiscretion, mistake and growing pains are on display. How does maturity or lack thereof impact player’s lives and the direction of the franchises they play for? How does immaturity determine the quality of play on the field and the decision making off? How much of a pass should we give young athletes for the mistakes they make?
