I will discuss the difference between self-absorption and introspection.

You are self-absorbed at the beginning of your spiritual path. You have just awakened. You discover there is infinite space within your heart, mind, body, and soul. You fall in love with everything that makes you, you. You discover everything there is to know about yourself for the purpose of loving yourself. The problem with self-absorption is that you may be completely oblivious to what is happening in your physical environment and in other people's lives. You may not even care. You are in your own "little world," and it is very little. From the perspective of everyone else in your life, you are narcissistic. You are trapped in your own limited perspective.

You are introspective when you have finished mapping out your experience so you know instantly every part of you. Because you know yourself so well, you also know everyone else in your life completely and instantly, better than they know themselves, because you can rearrange yourself and recreate yourself to become whoever you want to be, perfectly. You are therefore at one with everything and everyone, making you enlightened. You exude love in every direction, to everyone and for every living creature. Your map gives you the ability to instantly go anywhere in your mind, heart, and body and instantly in anyone else's mind, heart, and body. You are a bridge between the spiritual, intellectual, emotional world and the physical world. All worlds synthesize within you. Thus, you are everything, so you know everything, just by thinking about it. The universe exists within you.
