How should age affect the way we treat each other?

Our elders deserve our respect. People often find it easy to dismiss the opinions of the elderly and avoid taking time to visit with them. But the fact that God commanded the Israelites to honor the elderly shows how seriously we should take the responsibility of respecting those older than we. Their wisdom gained from experience can keep us from many pitfalls.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12,

Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord . (Leviticus 19:32, niv)
