EQUALITY UPDATES 47: EMPOWERING WOMEN/DOURIEAN FLETCHER & "Storytelling Couture"

In East Africa, women use jewelry as a forum, and tool, to educate other women about their rights (land, education, health, hiv/aids awareness).

The Maasai,and Samburu women of eastern Africa are extending their arms to the Gods in hope, and prayer, that their stifling will end!  The seek to propel tradition, make beauty, share culture, and gain independence!

That's where Douriean comes into the mix!  DOURIEAN FLETCHER has a remarkable personal story of growth, diligence and empowerment.  An, even more, captivating story is her upcoming visit to Africa to create global sisterhood, partnership, and awareness of the struggles of these women, via the fine art of jewelry making and design.  Let's call it a "Jewelry Summit: for Cultural Exchange and Support of Women"!  Ms. Fletcher is thr visiting "ambassador" for the Summit!
