Dr. Randall Eaton, World renowned animal behaviorist, author, poet & editor of 15 books including: The Orca Project: A Meeting of Nations and From Boys to Men of Heart: Hunting as Rite of Passage. In l985, Eaton and his volunteers befriended a pod of wild orcas in British Columbia when the females escorted the calves one at a time to shore to see the humans close up. Publicized internationally the event was described in detail in Eaton's TV production, "Orca: The Sacred Whale," which won First Place among natural history broadcasts in 2000. The Orca Project seeks volunteers for its study in British Columbia. Its 29th field season will document and film the intimate relationship between orcas and the Kwakiutl culture.
