Description: We all know the alarming rate at which many youth (particularly minority youth) are being expelled, arrested, imprisoned and killed. The 2012 cases involving the death of Treyvon Martin and 20 year sentence of Marrissa Alexander have brought these issues to a head, but they are certainly not the only ones. However, although they are not the first, they can be the LAST! This presentation details the most important ways parents and other caregivers can arm their children with the information and decision-making tools  they need to stay out of the “trap” that leads to loss of freedom and/or life.
