Joe Downing is a Country/Soul artist that knows how to rock and roll. Downing came up listening to everything from the Motown sound to the popular recording artists of today. He believes in the theory that great art can inspire great art, as he names some of his biggest influences such as: Sam Cooke, Tom Petty and Frank Sinatra, just to name a few. After his first release in 2010, “Music from the Row,” which had some classic Joe Downing songs, such as “Make This Night Our Bitch,” and “Can’t Take It With Me,” Downing found himself impressing more and more people at the Nashville writer rounds that he would play. He started to do more co-writing, and is now releasing his sophomore EP called “Scrapbook.” With songs like “Where I Come From,” “The You I Like the Best,” and Wakin’ Up,” it is easy to see that Joe Downing has grown as a storyteller, melody writer and all round artist. His soulful vocals and his groovy melodies make him an instant hit, no matter the venue. “Whether I’m playing for one person or thousands, I always try to give it my all, so that when the audience walks away, they say: ‘That Joe Downing guy… I’m going to remember him.’”
