Born in Wurzberg, Germany during the tumultuous and turbulent Vietnam Era to an acute schizophrenic American soldier and his abused wife, it seemed that Heidi Bacon (formerly known as Heidi Phillips-West) was being conditioned straight out of the womb for the tribulations of what life’s path would hold for her. Ms. Bacon uses her poetic prowess to sling a powerful testimonial of victory over a history of childhood abuse, miscarriage, criminal activity, two failed marriages, grieving the death of her mother, and almost losing her own life to domestic violence. Her inspirational journey to the destination of loving self is told in a way that has been referred to as raw and uncut, yet beautifully addictive. In the five years Ms. Bacon has been spilling ink, she has written literally thousands of pieces of poetry in which she has tasted her own blood and offered the flavor to her readers as well. She began recording approximately a year into her writing career, and found a liberation in expressing herself through spoken word. Currently, she is in the editing process of her memoirs Bruised but not Broken.
