The Republican Party touts an alleged fealty to the Constitution of the United States, yet collapsed as a house divided regarding the Amash amendment to defund the NSA's domestic spying program. Now Minnesota congresswoman and self-proclaimed Tea Party darling Michele Bachmann, who voted against the amendment, is being touted by the Huffington Post as President Obama's staunchest defender in the realm of domestic spying. What's going on here? Have the naysayers been proven right? Is there really no difference between the major political parties after all?
