Lesson In Appreciation From Prince
With the sudden death of Prince this past week
Appreciation and gratitude are coming to mind
The lesson is that we often do not appreciate what we have until it is gone
We take our spouse of children for granted until they are gone or all grown up
We take our bodies for granted, feeding them junk, and neglecting them until untimely death or illness
We take our business or profession and the opportunity right in front of us for granted, thinking the grass is greener elsewhere
We neglect any connection with God until we need him (usually when one of the above occours in life unexpectedly)
How can you appreciate the people in your life now
The business that is right in front of you
Your body and how you push it to see what it is capable of or the fuel that you put in it
The connection with God that you may be lacking or desiring
Listen to Princes music when he is still alive, go see him live, go to a game to see Kobe or Jordan in their prime before they retire
Love your wife and kids, be present and engaged and involved with them before they leave or grow up
