A simple majority vote, instead of the 60-vote threshold

So the world is discovering that having 60 Democratic Senators isn't necessarily the same thing as having 60 votes. Holding the entire caucus together, guaranteeing perfect attendance, etc. are not that easy. So does calling for the use if the leverage that 60 seats might give you constitute a misundrstanding of how the Senate works?
