When Rafael moved to London having left his job as a support analyst at Microsoft he worked as a kitchen porter, cleaner, glass collector in order to pay the bills.  He then went on to manage a portfolio of 50 properties, with 15 staff and reached a turnover of £1.2m. He’s the author ‘Moving Abroad, One Step At A Time’ which has been published in English, Portuguese and Chinese.

His other projects include Mi-HUB, London’s first a co-working space that supports migrant entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses and services include strategy development to raise finance and leverage the knowledge of other successful. Rafael is a guest lecturer at Regent’s University in London where he teaches Entrepreneurship, he has won 6 business awards and has been the keynote speaker in several events around the world, including the World Entrepreneurship Forum in China last year.

Most recently Rafael was featured on the Sunday Times as the ‘Top 100 Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs in the UK’, an award organised by Maserati and the Centre for Entrepreneurs.
