Lady Serenity shines the spotlight on business lady & inspirationalist Shirley Powell.

Shirley is a Doctor of Naturopathy, Certified Health Practitioner, Certified Nutrition Counselor, author, speaker, and abundant living coach.  She received her training in the field of natural healing through the International Institute of Original Medicine. 

In 2006, Powell started a private practice:  Temple Care: Body, Mind & Spirit, providing customized nutritional, dietary and lifestyle consultation and wellness coaching services. She incorporates the use of supplementation, herbs, detoxification products, natural therapies, emotional balancing, health-enhancing lifestyle tools, and various forms of testing.  Shirley also gives lectures and workshops, as well as hosts retreats and cruises.  She currently has offices in Northeast Alabama, but the majority of her practice is composed of telephone consultations, serving clients across the country.

Doctor Powell previously co-founded and was the executive director of an alternative medicine practice and Christian health ministry.  In December 2004, she launched Temple Care International Ministries, through which she speaks at churches, ministry retreats and conferences, as well as businesses around the country.

Shirley Powell is author of "Making Friends With Food: Honoring the Body Temple Nutritionally; writer of a monthly health e-newsletter; has been host and guest on various radio programs; conducts food preparation demonstrations; teaches classes on Overcoming Abuse and Setting Boundaries; mentors at-risk young women, and is a member and volunteer of various service and outreach organizations.
