Are you feeling overwhelmed? Exhausted? Author Jane Rubietta will chat with Maxine and Jeannie on The River about our human tendency to overwork. We worship busyness, she says, by filling our time with activities and then passing that habit on to our children. In her book, Finding Life: From Eden to Gethsemane—the Garden Restored, she urges us to rethink how Christ is calling us to live our lives. We don’t need to apologize for resting, Rubietta says, rest can be a stepping stone to our own growth and development as beings made in the image of God.

But, “Choosing life also means choosing death. This is the paradox.” The death we choose is to old habits. Old ways of doing life. Activities that keep us locked in a prison of dysfunction and despair.
