We all know that expression and its related theory of guilt by association.  Sometimes just being affiliated with the wrong people is enough to get you in trouble.  But, the gospel of grace speaks of righteousness that comes only by association.  You cannot earn it, work for it, add to it or make yourself worthy of it.
