"The Help"...Helping Whom? Not Us...

"The Help" Who is it helping? In an attempt to tell a "fictional" story of what it was like for Black maids of white families in the 60's Mississippi south, "The Help" has already become a blockbuster. But, does that mean this is an accurate description of the truth? Labeling the movie a comedy-drama begs to differ. What's funny about the situation? Not a damn thang. Yet, the author, producers and filmmakers are laughing all the way to the biz-zank. So, who exactly is "The Help" helping? Not us; certainly not the real Ablene Cooper.
