Andre Ward's win over Sergey Kovalev was one of the most controversial moments of 2016. Despite hitting the deck in round 2, Ward was awarded a close unanimous decision over the Russian light heavyweight. A rematch had to happen, and this weekend, it is.
This week on Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio, author and filmmaker Brin-Jonathan Butler joins historian Patrick Connor in breaking the rematch down and attempting to answer various questions. For instance, can Ward find a way to win against a version of Kovalev that seems pissed off? Is Kovalev a racist? Does that have anything at all to do with how the fight may turn out? Has this fight been a difficult sell? Can the Pay-Per-View be even remotely successful?
