Today, we meet  Mr. Isaac Kariuki,  founder and CEO of Diaspora Messenger, the Kenyan website for the Diaspora.  He is also also  Territory Manager for Cooperative Insurance Company of Kenya (CIC) Diaspora, a project of the that has developed products for Kenyans in Diaspora. Mr. Kariuki is the past Chairman of Kenya Christian Fellowship in America Washington DC Chapter and now an Evangelist and a Community leader.

Today, Mr. Kariuki introduces several programs that Diaspora can get involved in.  One of them is the Kenya Funeral Assurance Program.  Every year, hundreds of Kenyans die abroad. In a majority of cases, the deceased did not carry any kind og life insurance. Consequently, community groups, churches, peer-to-peer groups and other organizations step in to raise funds to meet the expenses for a decent burial and in most cases to meet the expenses of transporting the remains to Kenya.

Mr. Kariuki also talks about his website, www.diasporamessenger.com, which he started as a community website and has grown to be the meeting place for many Kenyans who want to get information about whatever may be going on in their communities.
