Continuing on with our breakdown of the phases of Domestic Violence victimization. Tonight we touch on the initiation process...the first time the abuser strikes, and the profuse apology games that prevent a victim from focusing on the abuse beyond the apologies. This is the initiation of denial, self-blame, deflection and self-doubt for the victim, which leads to the delay in breaking away from the danger while it's safe to do so.
