Ask an 8 year old about Water Safety!

K38 is going to get into the mind of a little girl and her view of what makes water safety so good!  Sometimes children have far greater insights than adults. Let's ask an 8 year old what her viewpoints on water safety are?

I was presenting at an elementary school an assembly about water safety years ago. When the assembly was over a young boy came up to me and asked me what to do in his situation when he has to be in the boat and his dad drives the boat drunk.  This boy said he was so scared to be in the boat and there weren't any lifejackets. He was worried about being killed.

 Honestly I was not prepared for that boy's question. I responded that he needed to find an adult he could trust far before they went boating and ask them to help him get a lifejacket and to listen to his fears.  I was shaken because of the purity and sincerity of his honesty.  If our children don't feel safe, something is wrong.
