Anita T. Conner, 15 year breast cancer survivor and The George E. Thorne Development Center (GETDC) present the 8Annual Praise Is The Cure® Week of Hope, Health, and Healing, September 29 – October 5, 2013, to recognize the plight of African-American Breast Cancer patients, survivors, and their families and to spread awareness about the disease in hopes that it will help save lives.

This is a FREE community event. Registration is required for certain activities. For more information, call 215-635-1025 or visit www.praiseisthecure.org.

  • This City wide event will begin with Praise Sunday, September 29, 2013 at over 100 churches and worship centers in the Delaware Valley area.   
  • Monday, September 30, 2013 with the Maddie Movement, Children’s Festival at the Abington YMCA, 1073 Old York Road, Abington, PA. The Maddie Movement is a statewide effort to make champions out of children in the fight against breast cancer.
  • Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ, 6401 Ogontz Avenue in Philadelphia.  

Praise Is The Cure® (PITC) is a movement that cares about the breast health of our current and future generations of African American women and men. Their mission is to motivate, educate and encourage African Americans to get breast cancer screenings and treatment.
